Maxwell For Free

I love reading books, especially good books I bought on sale. But what I enjoy reading most are books that are given to me. Sadly, I only have received one book, an “Elf Everyday Courage Therapy” by Linus Mundy given to me by Father Bernard Martin (Erpz) on Christmas of 2005. Other than that I have received none. Free: “The 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader”
One morning, I greeted Ms. Minda, our executive secretary, a good morning. I then go to her table and was surprised of what I see, a pile of books lined on top of her in-out tray. Ranging from “One Day at a Time” by Francis Kong, a little book called “The Prayer of Jabez”, John Maxwell’s “The 17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork” and other good books I can’t remember. What appealed to me was “The 17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork”.
I picked Maxwell among the stack of books and start flipping the pages. “Do you read Maxwell?” she asked me smiling her sweet morning smile. I said yes. The next morning, she hand me a copy of “The 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader” by John Maxwell. That was my second Maxwell (the first one I bought on sale at 50% off) and my first “Maxwell for free” experience. I said thank you and she said that I should read it and live it for I’m a future leader myself. I feel very blessed that morning not knowing and definitely not expecting a dejavu.
Free: “The 17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork”
One morning, two days after I had my first “Maxwell for free” experience, I sent an IM (Instant Message) to Ms. Gigi, our training assistant, inquiring about the condition of her son who was brought to the hospital the other day. She told me that her son is suffering a form of asthma. “He got out of the hospital after few medications”, she said ironically smiling. I offered to say prayers for the quick recovery of her son which she greatly appreciates.
Before we left the office that day, she saw me handling my copy of “The 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader”; she asked me if I read books, I said, ‘yes”. “I see your reading Maxwell”, she said pointing at the book, “Do you have a copy of ‘The 17 indisputable Laws of Teamwork’?”
“I wish I have”, I said smiling,
“If I give you a copy would you read it?”
“Yes.”
The next morning she hand me a copy of “The 17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork”. She said it’s a complementary copy from the company. And since she can’t find time to read it, she decided to give it to me. “The 17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork”, got it for free, my second “Maxwell for free” experience, third of my John Maxwell collection.
God Loves Surprises
Life is full of surprises. You’ll never know whom God will use to pour in His blessings in your life. It may be the one sitting beside you on a bus ride or the one leaning very hard at your back on a MRT ride. The challenge is how you would let God use you as a blessing to other. Go out and be a blessing to other and be blessed!
