Called To Love

Jesus said, “A new command I give you, Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35, NIV.

UE Campus Feast

University of the East Campus Feast is happening this coming November 25, 2010 at the UE Theater from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. Out talk topic is, “God The Provider”.

What Is Campus Feast?

Campus Feast is a Catholic prayer meeting of the Light of Jesus Family organized in school campuses and universities all over the country. But before it is a Catholic prayer meeting it is first a party.

Yes! A party! And you are invited.

The Feast isn’t really a prayer meeting nor a religious seminar or a motivational workshop (but we have an empowering talk as part of the meeting) nor a Christian concert (partly though), The Feast is really a party, a party where we will celebrate God’s love.

In his letter, Paul wrote to Corinth about love. He said, “For now there are faith, hope and love. But of these three, the greatest is love.” And The Feast is a party where we can all celebrate love.

The main goal of The Feast is to give its attendees an experience. An experience they can associate with faith, hope and love. An experience where they can grow their faith in Jesus Christ, lift up their hope and feel loved. Because I believe that’s what we are called to do, nothing more nothing less.

Party For Sinners

The Feast is based on Mark 2:15-17, where Jesus had party at Levi’s house, eating with tax collectors, drunkards, and prostitutes. That was when religious leaders criticized Jesus, asking how he could eat with sinners. (In that culture, eating with someone around a table meant friendship.) Instead of offering his friendship, these religious leaders wanted Jesus to condemn these sinners.

But Jesus didn’t do that. He simply loved them.

We are all sinners right? Thus The Feast is our party.

The Feast isn’t a prayer meeting for religious people. The Feast is a party for those who aren’t religious. Just like what Jesus did in Levi’s house, The Feast is a party for sinners. The Feast is a party where we will all celebrate Jesus’ unfailing love.

On behalf of the UE SCA-CCP Family, LOJ Family, The Feast Manila Campus Ministry I say, “We love you. See you at the UE Campus Feast”

To God be the glory forever and ever, amen!
